Fall 2010 - Job Openings
Smart Start Teacher - Community New Start (CNS), a Christian nonprofit, seeks teachers for its after-school program for children in grades Kinder through 6th. Teachers facilitate a structured program that includes homework assistance, age-appropriate Bible study, and recreation time. Applicants must posses love, care, and concern for children and enjoy working with children, have some knowledge of the impact of poverty on children, and be a Christ-follower and communing member of the body of Christ. Preference given to applicants fluent in Spanish. $8/hour up to 15 hours a week. Must be able to work at least two days a week, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday but would like to have 4-day teachers (Monday through Thursday) during the hours of 2:30 to 6:00 pm. Smart Start Site Coordinator - Community New Start seeks a Site Coordinator to provide oversight to 8-10 Smart Start Teachers in its after-school program for children Kinder to 6th. The Site Coordinator provides leadership to teachers, training and communicates directly with the families of the children we serve. Applicants must posses love, care, and concern for children and enjoy working with children, have some knowledge of the impact of poverty on children, and be a Christ follower and communing member of the body of Christ. Preference given to applicants fluent in Spanish. Be able to work up to 25 hours a week, some weekend work invovled. Contact Celia Lugo at
